Edge Detection in Multispectral Images

چکیده

This paper proposes an extension of edge detectors based on second-order differential operators to the case of multiple band (color) images. To this end, we deline a local directional measure of multispectral contrast. A definition of edge point is then given, as the location of a directional maximum of the contrast function. Extremal contrast edges are defined, as loci of zero crossing points of the first directional derivative of the contrast function. The qualitative properties of the so defined edges are brieffy discussed. An algorithm for edge location with subpixel resolution is proposed, with an example of application to actual RGB imagery. A Gravitational Edge Detection for Multispectral Images

Gravitational edge detection is one of the new edge detection algorithms that is based on the law of gravity. This algorithm assumes that each image pixel is a celestial body with a mass represented by its grayscale intensity and their interactions are based on the Newtonian laws of gravity. In this article, a multispectral version of the algorithm is introduced. The method uses gravitational t...

Automatic Road Detection and Extraction From MultiSpectral Images Using a New Hierarchical Object-based Method

Road detection and Extraction is one of the most important issues in photogrammetry, remote sensing and machine vision. A great deal of research has been done in this area based on multispectral images, which are mostly relatively good results. In this paper, a novel automated and hierarchical object-based method for detecting and extracting of roads is proposed. This research is based on the M...

Combining of Magnitude and Direction of Change Indices to Unsupervised Change Detection in Multitemporal Multispectral Remote Sensing Images

In remote sensing, image-based change detection techniques, analyze two images acquired over the same area at different times t1 and t2 to identify the changes occurred on the Earth's surface. Change detection approaches are mainly categorized as supervised and unsupervised. Generating the change index is a key step for change detection in multi-temporal remote sensing images. Unsupervised chan...

Edge Detection in Hyperspectral Imaging: Multivariate Statistical Approaches

Edge detection is well developed area of image analysis. Many various kinds of techniques were designed for one-channel images. Also, a considerable attention was paid to edge detection in color, multispectral, and hyperspectral images. However, there are still many open issues in edge detection in multichannel images. For example, even the definition of multichannel edge is rather empirical an...

Today, medicinal plants have a special place in the economy and health of a society. Due to the natural growth of many of these products, the necessity of zoning them for optimum and optimal utilization seems necessary. Traditional zoning solutions are not efficient due to their low accuracy and speed, therefore a new approach is needed. Remote sensing data have many applications in various fie...
